Compassion and Compromise

I read an interesting blog this weekend about the relationship between a mother-in-law and daughter-in-law.  The more I thought about the article the more I feel that it relates to all relationships and interactions.  Many conversations and news stories today are me, me, me.  I’m sure this isn’t news to anyone or new to society.  It goes back to the beginning of time.

As I thought about what this blogger was saying two words came to mind; Compassion and Compromise.  Think about it, if we all lived by these two words we could approach situations more rationally and in turn get things accomplished more quickly and live a more peaceful life.

I’m not saying that the majority of our interactions are confrontational, but we all interact with someone we don’t completely relate to.  For example, you work with a millenial, someone with a different management style and the list goes on.

How we approach this also impacts our children and how they interact with the bully, the kid too cool for school and the nerdy kid being picked on.

I’m going to try to keep these two words top of mind before I react to different situations and opinions.

Have a great week!

I am so blessed! I love my DIL like the daughter I never had. I pray that as the years go by that she will truly allow me into her heart as I have her into mine. My son is the best son ever and made the perfect choice for life in his wife. I am proud of them and am thankful to God that I have the most wonderful grandkids in the world. They are healthy and happy and well adjusted. I am so blessed in so many ways. Thank you Lord for all you give me on a daily basis.
