Two to three small shrubs were removed along with a layer of monkey grass. These were replaced with bright and colorful flowers in one section and large river rocks in another. The space is now perfect for seasonal flowers. And the river rocks serve a dual purpose; water run off and cosmetic. They look great!
A lawn needs both foundational plants that hold down the grounds all year around, sections with rocks, bird baths or fountains and then a place for your seasonal flowers. This makes lawn maintenance much more manageable and budget friendly.
Thank you Ginny, for sharing before and after pictures.
Now, I need to finish my lawn clean up.
