Prepare Your Lawn For Spring

Clean up, Clean up Everybody…the song my kiddos sing when it is time to clean up.  It makes sense. Don’t let nature confuse you with the back and forth of the weather — pretty weather, messy weather, pretty weather, messy weather.  You get my drift. Even with all this back and forth, it is time […]

Update – We are growing Lemon Trees

On January 18th I decided to try to grow Lemon trees from a lemon seed.  And….drum roll please.  Our lemon seeds have turned into seedlings.  I am going to have to practice because out of several  lemons seeds I only have two seedlings, but there is still hope for the others.  I’m going to give […]

Grow your own vegetables, for free

The weather is cold and there is no hope of growing anything outdoors, for the moment.  The good news is that there are several vegetables you can grow indoors.  I read a blog post about a week ago that outlined a list of vegetables that you can grow indoors, for FREE. Disclaimer: You do have to […]

Pineapples, Please

This is a family-friendly gardening activity that can be accomplished in about 15 minutes.  This is a great activity for any age. There are different opinions whether or not this will produce fruit.  My gut feeling is no, but stranger things have happened.  Only time will tell.  Either way, it is fun and makes use […]

Grow a Lemon from a lemon seed, we’ll see

Here is how it all started.  There is this crazy Meyer Lemon Tree in San Antonio, TX that produces lemons in mass quantities.  My friend calls super excited about these lemons and asks, if I want to try to grow a lemon tree.   Please note that at this moment she has about two-dozen lemons in […]

Gardening Fashion…Really?

I love gardening.  I love planning out and planting my garden, my neighbor’s garden, my friend’s garden and my friend’s neighbor’s garden.  You get the drift.  But I stop at garden fashion.  If a t-shirt and shorts don’t fit the bill, I might be out.  I do have to admit I have pulled a weed […]

What to do with all your greeting cards

We are past the mad Holiday rush and most of you have already put away your decorations. Now, what to do with all those  Holiday cards?  This is not for all the adorable selfies or family photos you receive.  This is for all the general holiday cards. The St. Jude Ranch for Children recycles your […]

At the office

Flowers and plants around the office.  Need I say more?  Enjoy!

Did you say planter?

I’m on a planter roll.  Planters don’t have to be complicated.  They can be very simple.  Check this one out.  I included three different color petunias.  Very simple and very colorful! Simple and pretty!  It doesn’t get better than that.

More Planters

Planters are so fun.  They are easy to maintain and fun to update based on the season.  These two planters welcome our guests.  Actually, most of our guests come to the back door so I guess you could say these two planters greet our mailman.  Hopefully our mailman enjoys them.  Folllowing the winter our planters were dead.   […]
